About Us

We Believe

Triune Nature of God
…there is one God, eternally existing in three persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; each with distinct personal attributes but without division of nature or essence or being. We believe God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things and is sovereign over all His creation.(Genesis 1:1; Genesis 1:26-27; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 42:5-8; Matthew 28:19; John 14:6-11; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:6; Col 1:17)

Inerrant & Infallible Word
…the Bible, in its entirety, is the inspired word of God, is reliable and is the final authority for all faith and practice.(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Psalm 19:7-11; Psalm 119:11; Matthew 5:17-18; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:24-25)

Christology
…that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man; that He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross to provide redemption for mankind, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven and will one day return to earth in power and glory to set up His Kingdom.
(Isaiah 53:1-12; Matthew 1:18; Matthew 3:17, Matthew 16:16; Matthew 16:27; John 1:1-18 ; John 11:25-27; John 14:1-3; John 14:6; Romans 1:3-4; Romans 5:6-21; Romans 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:13-22; 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18; Hebrews 7:25; Revelation 16:6-16)

Nature of Man
…that mankind is created in the image of God but that image has become distorted through man’s inherited sinful nature which has alienated us from God. We believe that mankind is unable to remedy this fallen state.
(Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 2:7; Genesis 3:1-6; Romans 3:10-18; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:6, Romans 7:14-25)

Salvation

…that salvation is a gift of God’s grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Christ’s death fully accomplished justification through faith and redemption from sin. We believe that salvation is received by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. We believe that Christ’s sacrifice is all-sufficient, and all those who have truly received Christ as Savior are eternally secure in salvation, kept by God’s power, secured and sealed by Christ forever.(John 1:12-13; John 3:16; John 3:36; John 14:6; Acts 4:8-12; Romans 10:9-13; Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Titus 2:11-14; 1 John 5:12)

The Church
…that Christ is the head of the church and the church is composed of all persons, who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. We believe that a local, visible New Testament Church is the instrument that God has chosen to use to glorify Him, nurture believers and fulfill the Great Commission.(Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 4:11-16; Ephesians 5:23; Romans 12:3-13; Hebrews 10:24-25)

For some practical issues

We would not be considered a charismatic, word of faith, ecumenical, egalitarian, hyper-Calvinist, Arminian, dogmatically Dispensational, King James Only, or a seeker type church. (If you don’t know what any of those things mean… then you’re in the right place.)

We would consider ourselves a conservative, contemporary in style, Bible-believing, evangelistic, mission-minded church – with a heart to know Christ and make Him known.

Our History

Founded in 1998 as a “place of new beginnings,” Promised Land Community Church was started as an authentic and genuine Christian community. Casual and contemporary, Promised Land has met in various locations throughout Granville County. We are currently meeting in Creedmoor Elementary School, and are still committed to sharing the love of Jesus with all of Granville County.

We have purchased an eleven acre plot of land off of Hwy. 56 and Hester Rd. in Creedmoor to become the future home of Promised Land Community Church. We are excited about what God has in store for us, as we seek to serve Him and make Him known.
